Exactly what and where is the labrum, what is its fnnction. What is a slap tear and how can I rehabilitate.?
An MRI showed that I have a slap tear in the labrum and fluid in the acromium of my left shoulder and possibly a partially torn rotator cuff.I stopped lifting weights a few months ago and my symptoms have improved somewhat.I´m not really sure what or exactly where the labrum is,but I want to start to rehabilitate it,as well tendinitis in my elbows and knees, mostly the left where I had arthroscopic surgery to remove most of the meniscus and arthritis and have undergone 4 series of injections to remain active over the past 4 years or so.17 years ago I had a laminectomy and bone spur removal at L5-S1 and have chronic back and neck problems.I also suffer from fibromyalgia, which would make recovery from another surgery more difficult. My main concern right now is understanding and rehabbing my shoulders,I have rotator cuff pain in the right as well, but I would certainly welcome any advice to improve my other conditions.I can´t risk or take the time for surgery,so I´m looking for alternatives

Ouch! Rotator Cuff?
Hello all. I am writing this answer due to fairly sudden and unexpected rotator cuff pain. I've browsed some of the other posts and it seems that long hours at a computer can cause rotator cuff pain, which is probably the problem with me (9 hour day at work). Anyway, I woke up this morning and my rotator cuff area hurt, not awful, but decently bad. So, can someone tell me what someone that sits in front of a computer can do all day to stop rotator cuff pain? I don't think it's torn, as it only started today, and the pain is not unbearable. Thanks for any and all help! I looked up some google stretches, and spent about twenty minutes doing them (making myself look like a goof in the office). Now the pain has pretty much completely gone away.

Rotator Cuff pain after drinking alcohol?
I'm not a heavy drinker and I never have been. I have had rotator cuff problems for about 7 or 8 years. Recently whenever I have a drink even a couple sips of something. I have stabbing pain in my rotator cuff. It starts about 15 minutes after I take the first sip. I almost always have some amount of pain in my shoulder but drinking intensifies it 10 fold. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with any other joint? And what you do about it? (besides not drinking). Though, not drinking seems the best course of action.

Bench press and rotator cuff problems?
Off and on, I've been working for the past three years. One month on four months off. Not really a routine but had little free time and lazy. I started working out hard three months ago. I added bench press to my routine. Flat incline and decline. I would take the bar all the way down to my chest. I thought that was the best form and most productive. However, as I used heavier weight I felt a bad strain in my should/ chest area. At first I thought it was a good pain and meant the muscle was getting bigger. But i think i was actually hurting my rotator cuff. I have made a lot of gains and want to keep going. I would stop for a month and feel better but when i get back on the bench it would hurt again. Is there anyway to avoid rotator cuff pain? I don't want to tear it completely and be out for months. Is a little pain normal? If i strengthen my rotator cuff muscles will this solve my bench problem?
