Can I pursue legal action against a pharmacy that changed manufacturers of a particular medication?
I live with epilepsy. A couple of years ago, I had 4 grand mal seizures, which I have had in the past but they have been thankfully very few. I have myclonic epilepsy called JME for short. At the time I had these 4 grand mal seizures I noticed a change in the shape of the pill that I take as an anticonvulsant. I was taking the generic version of klonopin made by a particular mfg. I was doing okay with this one(still had small breakthroughs but nothing major). When I noticed opened the bottle and saw the pill was shaped different the first thing I did was call the pharmacy to make sure it was the same medication. They reassured me that indeed it was. I still wasn't feeling right. I started having some small breakthroughs. I called again just to make sure because I was just not feeling "right". I then spiraled into a deep depression because little did I know my body was going through withdrawals because evidently I was not metabolizing this mfg drug fillers or what ever was in it. To cut the story short, I ended up having 4 grand mal seizures..2 my husband was present and caught me before I injured myself severely and the other 2 I had in the bathroom while getting ready for bed and no one was aware until after the fact. I had shoulder pain after one of them. I ended up with a partial rotator cuff tear in my right shoulder. There was also found 2 herniated disc in my cervical spine. I had a 2 level acdf (fusion) on my spine in Sept. 10. I'm 7 months out but am suffering from chronic pain which I hope will eventually stop but I'm very concerned. I have to hire or get help for many physical services I am unable to perform to meet the day to day demands. My big question is can I hold the pharmacy responsible for not informing me in more detail about changing mfg and what could happen. It's not commonly talked about it but I later found out that many medicines in generic forms do not perform as well as generics in certain arenas, especially anything that effects the central nervous system and transplant anti-rejection meds. It ended up the other mfg stopped making that drug. I tried using several different generics without relief. Finally my husbands insurance approved the brand name Klonopin at a reasonable charge that we can afford and I have been doing well with the seizures but my neurologist added another anticonvulsant anyway (which causes significant side effects). Looking at the long term complications from the unfortunate events do to the generic change I'm concerned about my ability to function well enough to care for myself and family (we have a 6 yr. old daughter) I don't know that I can continue to afford the services long term. I have limitations with the shoulder already and the neck pain I'm waiting and hoping for improvement but there is no guarantee. I really hated that all this happened. I'm angry some but mostly I miss just being able to be as active, to enjoy life and be able to participate more fully in life...especially with my daughter. I'd appreciate any advice. I have no idea that I have any recourse but if I do I'd like to leverage it for the help I need.

How to Stay Awake During the Day?
OK so I have been unable to do exercise for almost a year now due to the fact that I have a labrum and rotator cuff tear on my shoulder and I have a dead broken bone in my left knee, also have a bad back. I will be getting surgery in the next couple weeks on both injuries but for the past six months I'd say I've had a really hard time keeping myself up during the day and since this happens I am unable to sleep at night making school a wreck for me. I was wondering if anyone knew some kind of ways to keep me up.
I want to be able to stay awake during the day so I'll be tired when it becomes night so I can reset my sleep schedule.

Physical Therapy Exercises for Partial Rotator Cuff Tear?
I recently had an MRI that showed I ave two very minor tears in my rotator cuff. One on the top (Supraspinatus ) and one in the back ( I believe its the Infraspinatus ). My doctor put emphasis on the fact that they were very very minor. I have been doing some research and found out that some physical therapy can actually help heal. can anyone who's had experience tell me which exercises that can help?? thanks
PS. any other advice you have for this would be much appreciated!! : )

MRI Report - What does any of this mean?
Multiplanar, multi-MRI Report of the right shoulder
There is mild degenerative change of the acromioclavicular joint. A small amount of fluid is present in the subacromial, subdeltoid bursa. There is no significant shoulder joint effusion.
There is mild to moderate supraspinatus tendinopathy, with more mild infraspinatus tendinopathy. The subscapularis and teres minor tendons are intact. The long head of the biceps tendon demonstrates mild tendinopathy distally as well, but it is normal in position.
The glenoid labrum apperars grossly intact. The glenohumeral articular cartilage is maintained. There is mild marrow edema along the posterior aspect of the greater tuberosity. The bone marrow appears otherwise normal in signal.
Impression:
1. Degenerative changes and rotator cuff tendinopathy as described, without full thickness rotator cuff tear identified.
2. Small fluid in the subacromial, subdeltoid bursa, could reflect bursitis.
3. Mild marrow edema along the posterior aspect of the greater tuberosity. This could be degenerative, but correlate clinically regarding any potential posttraumatic contusion, including that related to an anterior dislocation.

Rotator cuff Tear/need help?
My dad is 64 yrs old and early this wk he suffers from a rotator cuff tear in his right shoulder. We took him to the ER twice and all they did was given him pain meds. We also took him to his PCP and she suggested bc of his high risk (health issues) he doesn't do the surgery but only therapy. We are now just waiting for the dr office to call us w/ a orthopedic specials so we can set up an appointment. But what do we do till then? We give him pain med only when he needs it and he's in a sling. We also add ice on his shoulder for about 15 min or so. So do we just wait? His right hand is starting to get a bit swollen. We told our dad that he has to level his arm and the little exercise that he has to. But what else should we do? His PCP put the referral as a urgent. I hope come Monday they call us.

Have you ever had a partial rotator cuff tear?
I had an MRI done on my shoulder and the results came back saying I had a partial thickness tear of my rotator cuff. When my doctor looked at the results for himself he said that it was very minor and would hardly call it a tear. He said for now I should just put ice on it and use ibuprofen. Have you ever had a partially torn rotators cuff? If so, what did you do to heal it? How long did it take? What should I avoid? Are there any useful supplements I can take? Any advice from personal experience you have would be useful. I just want to heal it as soon as possible, Thanks
