Torn Rotator cuff- surgery isn't an option- any exercises to help it heal or should I immobilize?
I'm a 35+ year cancer survivor who received radiation which has now manifested itself into a new term LONG TERM RAMIFICATIONS. I'm also being treated for severe congestive heart failure. When they were trying to install a pacemaker and they found the veins weren't viable. I'm already on pain killers & anti-inflamatories- does not even take the edge off. I have a doctor's appt next Tuesday, but this is unbearable NOW. Any help would be greatly appreciated. God bless. Love you!
Thank you for all your answers- I have it in a sling now. I do enjoy the sunshine and all God's creations- that & laughing as often as possible are the best medicine. I di ice for 48 hours & have been using heat & Aspercream- I too, have Vicodin but am careful to take them only as perscribed. I avoid salt & my heart is actually improving.. Life is good. There are just sometimes when singing doesn't stop the sting... Please feel free to add details if you come across any.

has any one had a small torn rotator cuff surgery. and how long did it take to heal?
its been 3 mo for me. i was luck they did a arthroscopic surgery and it still hurts. im still doing pt. the doc told me he did not need to stich it back together. he only cleaned it up. he thinks it will heal on its own. thanks gang for your info. take care .

Is a torn muscle or torn rotator cuff worse?
I am recovering from a full thickness torn rotator cuff surgery right now. My step dad just injured himself at work, had to have an MRI and just found out that he has a 3/4 tear of his shoulder muscle and is going to have surgery.
Which of these two is worse?
I want to be able to say "it wont be as bad as mine was, so dont worry" or I want to be able to warn him that its going to be worse.
